The Stuttgart Public School District is in the process of locating children birth to 21 years of age with special education needs. The district provides comprehensive services to this population of students in the school setting. A referral for screening may be made by a parent or person having knowledge of the child and suspecting a need for special education services.
If your child is suspected of having a disability, please call Linda Oltmann, LEA Supervisor at 870-674-1302, or your child's building principal to set up an appointment. The district provides evaluation services and programming for children who qualify for special education services.

The Stuttgart School District participates in CHOICE OF DISTRICT ATTENDANCE under provisions of Act 609 of 1989 and 1991 and has adopted policy to regulate procedures by which students are accepted to attend Stuttgart from other districts. Application deadline is July 1 for attendance in the Fall. Those presently attending under provision of Act 609 need not reapply.

The Stuttgart Public School District is giving prior notice to former special education students and their parents/guardians that special education due process records for students dismissed from service during the 2003-04 school year will be destroyed after June 1, 2009. This destruction of records is only for students who no longer receive special education services and is required under federal law. Former students who want to obtain records should contact the school prior to June 1st.
